CoreWeave Ellendale ND is an operational AI data center with AI chips owned by CoreWeave and used by OpenAI (speculative). It hosts an estimated 93k H100-equivalents of compute, supported by 68 MW of IT power at a capital cost of $2.6 B. In Q2 2027, we project it to rise to 505k H100-eq compute, 400 MW IT power and a cost of $15.2 B. We estimate that it uses Nvidia B200 chips.
The timeline of IT power and compute capacity is based on satellite imagery, company disclosures, regulatory filings, third-party reporting, and chip efficiency.
Applied Digital’s two roughly 15-year leases with CoreWeave cover 400 MW across three buildings, an initial contract worth about $7 billion.

Start of construction for the first building, according to Applied Digital. CoreWeave was not leased yet at this site, but this is the construction start date we're using for relevance.
CoreWeave signed the first lease package for 250 MW. No buildings online yet. This is according to an SEC 8-k filing from this date.
A new 150 MW lease brings CoreWeave to 400 MW total contracted. The project is now clearly scheduled to be a three-building CoreWeave campus.
The first 50 MW slice of Building 1 has reached Ready for Service status according to this report. This is the first point where we would count any CoreWeave capacity as operational.
This Applied Digital report says the rest of Building 1 has reached Ready for Service, bringing the first building to its expected 100 MW. We can treat this as the first completed data center building.
According to satellite imagery, Building 1 looks complete and in service, with the surrounding power/cooling equipment also operational. (Note: this image doesn't provide a view of buildings 2 or 3, though it's very safe to assume they're under construction at this stage, considering they're still under construction in the satellite image 3 months from now.)
According to satellite imagery, Building 2 is fully roofed and shell complete, with rooftop chillers mostly installed. Building 3 construction is well underway, with about 1/4 of the roofing done and the foundation laid out.
According to the schedule, Building 2 should be online sometime in the second half of 2026. We can estimate the end of 2026 for 250 MW operational.
