Huawei Wuhu

Wuhu, Anhui, China

Huawei Wuhu is an operational AI data center with AI chips owned by Huawei. It hosts an estimated 76k H100-equivalents of AI compute, supported by 157 MW of IT power at a capital cost of $5.9 B. In Q4 2027, we project it to rise to 222k H100-eq AI compute, 457 MW IT power and a cost of $17.3 B. We estimate that it uses Huawei Ascend 910C chips.

The timeline of IT power and AI compute capacity is based on satellite imagery, our cooling equipment power model, regulatory filings, drone imagery, structural similarity to known buildings, third-party reporting, and chip availability.

Land clearing begins, with the east campus being the first of the three. Land clearing begins for the other two campuses months after.

Three buildings are operational. On the west campus, building 1 is operational, and on the east campus, building 7 is operational. The second building on the east campus has installed generators, but as of 2026 does not have the cooling sufficient for AI. Assumes a 3-month fit-out post structural completion.

Four buildings are operational in total. A fifth building, building 5 on the north campus, is finishing installing roofside cooling. Another building on the east campus is complete but does not have sufficient cooling for AI despite its backup generators. The remaining three buildings, one per campus, have not begun construction.

On the north campus, building 5 is structurally complete but not operational as seen by barricades and no parked cars. Building 6, a much larger building across the pond, should finish construction in approximately one month, given that it is structurally complete and 75% of its cooling looks to be installed. On the east campus, building 9 is under construction.

Six buildings are operational. On the north campus, building 6, the larger building, is operational assuming a 3-month fit-out if it is structurally complete in September. We assume Building 6 is about 3.7x more power than one of the previous buildings, based on the size and quantity of cooling and backup generator equipment observed in satellite imagery.

All eight AI buildings are operational. Buildings 3 and 9 are assumed to be 1.25x the power and compute of buildings 1 and 7 based on the sizing of the backup generator enclosures; building 8 is excluded due to insufficient cooling. The time from observed land-clearing to operational is 23-26 months based on previous buildings.
