Google Cedar Rapids is an AI data center under construction with AI chips owned by Google and used by Google DeepMind (speculative). In Q2 2027, we project it to host an estimated 816k H100-equivalents of compute, supported by 261 MW of IT power at a capital cost of $9.9 B.

The timeline of IT power and compute capacity is based on satellite imagery, our cooling equipment power model, regulatory filings, chip availability, chip efficiency, and grid operator data.

Permitting suggests Cedar Rapids will use more than twice as many cooling towers per building as Google’s similar New Albany and Omaha sites, even though power per building appears largely unchanged.
